About Me
Hi there, I'm Stacy, the gal behind this blog The Backroad Life. I are a produce farmer and farmer's wife. We have a 15 acre produce farm, run a CSA program, and are vendors at some local farmers markets. We also grow pumpkins and have a Fall Harvest Days event on weekends in October. Scott and I started dating in February 2000, when we were in high school. I attended Purdue University and majored in Landscape Horticulture & Design with a minor in Food & Agribusiness Management (Dec. '05). We had a beautiful outdoor wedding in August 2005. With a few different jobs after college, I am now enjoying my time as a stay at home mom/farm wife. We have been blessed with three wonderful children, fun and unique in their own ways.
I started this blog to share my story of produce farming, raising a family, country life, and also my favorite hobbies in the crafting and my craft business. I am truly blessed in life and love every bit of it!
Some fun facts about me:
I am a farmer's daughter - grew up on a horse, cattle, corn, soybeans, and hay farm,
I love agriculture. I couldn't imagine my life without it as part of my life.
Red tractors!
I need a creative outlet and find that through my ETSY shop and Facebook page Sew.Stitch.Create.
I love a lot of color and a wide variety of color combinations, but my favorites are chartreuse green and Mason jar blue to be specific,
I love floral arranging and plants, everything about it!
I love hearing about wedding details.
I love antiques, vintage and rustic décor. I am slowly decorating our house to fit with my style that I call "Vintage.Rustic.Country"
