Michigan

For our anniversary, we did an overnight trip to Michigan. It was a good mini vacation. We didn't really have a plan other than we wanted to go to this little indoor water park that we found that wasn't too far away from home. It was called Safari Joe's. It was small but perfect for 2 and 4 year old boys!. We ventured into Benton Harbor for dinner at Chili's and to take a picture of the sunset (We were a little late). We stayed at Safari Joe's for the night (it was a hotel too). The next day we drove around a lot just checking out the pretty state! The landscape is so pretty! Lots of grape farms! Lots of produce farms!! We loved it! We took the boys to a beach also to let them see at the water. We got our feet wet and ran around on the beach. On the way home we stopped at a place and had cheeseburgers. They were awesome! And the served their waffle fries with sour cream! It was so good! This town was so nice and lots of shops to look at! Then we headed home. Pictures from our mini vacation are below

Project for a rainy morning....

I really like to use my weekends to do work outside, but this morning we had a thunderstorm that lasted for a while. It has been a while since we've had rain and we REALLY needed it, so I won't complain :). So it was a morning to do some things inside. I had an order for a birthday banner, so I used the rainy weather as a time to get that done.
I love my Cricut!

I love how it turned out!
I really enjoy using my Cricut and these banners are a neat decoration for birthday parties. I want to make up some and put them on Etsy too

slippin' and a slidin'

The boys got a slip n' slide for their birthday party (what a good idea for summer birthday), so we got it out this weekend. It was great weather to play in the water as hot as it was.  We tried to tell the boys how to do it but they couldn't quite figure it out. They made up their own way....whatever works! They had a blast!!
As I look at pictures I can see we really needed to mow also, glad we got that taken care of!

Strawberry Jam

This weekend I finally got to making my Strawberry Freezer Jam! Ive saved strawberries in the freezer until I had a chance to make the jam. Glad I got it done! I still have a little bit more to do. I usually had done it with my mom in past years, but this year I did it by myself. I think it turned out well! Now ready for toast and jam or pb&j!!

Here a Moo, There a Moo, Everywhere a Moo Moo

This weekend was a nice 3 day weekend because of the 4th of July. I'm so happy it fell on a Monday to give us a 3 day weekend!! Ty's birthday was on Sunday. We already had joint birthday parties for the boys last month but we wanted to do something fun for his actual birthday. We will have ice cream cake next weekend with grandmas and grandpas.  We decided to stay close and go to Fair Oaks Dairy Farm. Scott and I had been several times ever since it had first opened. We've taken the boys to eat there many times also, but we've never done the full blow experience. So this time we did the adventure center, the farm tour and all the activities that you can do. Scott and I have seen calves being born several times as long as we can remember, but we took the boys to see it too. Lane was really interested in it! Below are some pictures from our day!

Ty's Tractor

For Father's Day, I made a simple card for Scott with the intentions of having the boys color and scribble all over it for him. This kind of stuff is my favorite!. So Lane had done what he wanted to do using mainly one color. Then it was Ty's turn....he did a few random drawings. Then asked what else should I draw for Dad...I said how about a tractor...Daddy loves tractors...so this is what he drew.
:) I was so proud of him! That's a pretty nice looking tractor!

Toy Story Birthday

Im a little past due at posting pics from the Boys' birthday party! We did a joint birthday party this year. I thought it would be easier and it was..and on top of that we had it at the park which was also a great idea!  We celebrated Lane's birthday with Scott and I's parents, our brothers, and our grandparents that live close. We will do the same for Ty in a few weeks. This party was for all our relatives and closest friends. The kids enjoyed playing at the park and we had cupcakes and ice cream. It was a very hot day too!!
